About Auckland Town Hall
Auckland Town Hall is an elegant, historic building of Edwardian Baroque style. Protected as a Category A heritage building, it opened in 1911 and was fully restored in 1997 to provide a distinct space for events. Constructed from Oamaru limestone, this majestic building has many special features including kauri floors, decorative plastered ceilings, stained glass windows, porcelain and glazed ceramic tiling, and hand blown chandeliers.
The Great Hall and Concert Chamber are both suited for theatre-style events, but upon removal of the stalls seating can be transformed to accommodate special one-off events, stylish cocktail parties and banquets as well as public ceremonies and exhibitions.
