Spain has inspired some of the world’s favourite pieces of music, including Bizet’s suite from his opera Carmen, and Ravel’s mesmerising Bolero. This concert is also an opportunity to hear the winner of the 2009 Michael Hill International Violin Competition playing a work full of fire and showmanship, Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnol.
