Accessibility

Mobility access within our venues

The venues at THE EDGE have been designed to enable access for everyone. Our staff are always on hand to provide seating and access assistance.

All of our venues offer mobility access. A combination of lifts (elevators) and ramps ensures that all levels at each of our venues can be accessed by people in wheelchairs or people who have difficulty climbing stairs.

The best mobility access into the Aotea Centre is via the Civic car park or next to the box office at the Northern end of the building.

Lifts in Aotea Centre are located at the southern end of the building towards Greys Avenue. In Auckland Town Hall, there is a glass lift that can be found in the central atrium. The lift location in The Civic is a little harder to locate. If you know you will need to use the lift in The Civic one of our attendants on duty will be able to assist you.

Please telephone our customer service team on 09 357 3353 before 5.00pm on the day of the show and we will make sure our Supervision team is aware of your needs.

Hearing Loops

We have a hearing loop in the following venues:

  • The Civic
  • The Great Hall and The Concert Chamber in Auckland Town Hall
  • ASB Theatre and the NZI Rooms in the Aotea Centre

Patrons are required to switch their hearing aids to "tele" to use it.

Please contact Ticketing on 09 357 3355 for advice of the best seats with coverage.

Signed and Audio Described performances

For selected performances at THE EDGE, we offer Sign Language Interpreted performances for the deaf and Audio Described performances for blind or vision impaired patrons. Visit Signal to find out more or phone 09 357 3354.

Guide dogs are welcome in our venues.
