Company in Residence

In our commitment to supporting regional arts companies, THE EDGE entered into a new partnership with Silo Theatre in 2008 whereby the boutique theatre company moved its home base to the 186-seat Herald Theatre in the Aotea Centre and assumed the title Company in Residence. This move has allowed Silo to continue staging cutting-edge contemporary theatre while building larger audience numbers.

Silo Theatre offers a unique theatrical experience, showcasing visceral works from a national and international stage. The company is at the forefront of presenting and augmenting innovative New Zealand theatre and acting talent, and further develops extant texts from the international stage. It presents a wide range of performances pertinent to a variety of cultural contexts and has emerged as a leading contender in the production of contemporary theatre.
