Development Programmes
Your development as a performing artist, along with the growth of your work and art form and your connection to new audiences, is central to THE EDGE’s Development Programmes.
Through these programmes we are ensuring that the next generation of New Zealand voices and experiences are brought before local, national and international audiences.
THE EDGE Development Programmes key objective is to support the development of New Zealand practitioners, their work and their art forms in a practical context and to connect them with their audiences.
Under this programme we present a curated season of productions and works in development under the banner of STAMP, a season that is committed to presenting work that is fresh, contemporary and with a distinctive New Zealand flavour.
STAMP, our flagship programme, fosters and supports you as an emerging artist, and encourages your creation of fresh new theatre, music and dance.
STAMP Mentoring sees all artists and companies involved in the STAMP programme receive marketing, production management and strategic planning mentoring.
Double Shot gives you just that, a double shot – while your original production is in development, it is brought twice before a live audience, with time allowed after the first showing to refine the work before it is presented again.
Additional Art Work and Art Form development initiatives include Read Raw, a partnership with Auckland Playwrights Collective to present a series of rehearsed play readings; and Playmarket Partnership, Playmarket’s Auckland conference and competition initiatives, presented at THE EDGE.
